DetecTag is a World Leader in the Development of EAS Technology

SURREY, BC – September 28th, 2017 – Flashgate Technology Inc. is pleased to announce the completion of the acquisition of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) assets of DetecTag, a leading innovator of EAS technology.

Certain aspects of the acquired technology will be utilized and extended in our Flashgate systems, which are currently being installed at retailers in the Pacific Northwest. The technology and the customer lists we have acquired are of the highest quality and we already have orders to be fulfilled with these new assets. The addition of this technology to our own will increase our capabilities while at the same time decrease our cost to produce our flagship Flashgate product.”

The DetecTag assets purchased include the intellectual property of the A208 EAS detection circuit board, the EASyAD antenna system and the DetecTag customer lists for previous purchasers of this technology. The A208 board operates as the core component of many manufacturers EAS systems worldwide while the EASyAD Antenna, which utilizes the A208 itself, is the principal anti-theft device at many retailers in North America, South America and Europe. The A208’s unique design allows it to operate in the 8.2MHz, 4.8MHz, 4.6Mz, 3.25MHz, 2.0MHz, 1.95MHz and 1.81MHz frequencies, the only EAS detection circuit board in the world with this capability. Flashgate will continue to sell both the A208 board and the EASyAD anti-theft antenna to retailers and distributors around the world including Flashgate’s own wholly owned EAS reseller, Provent Technologies Corporation (www.proventtechnology.ca).
